Full Official Name and Version for Xojo

As part of a documentation process at work, I’ve been asked to provide the “full official name” and “versioning” for the software components I’m using. Does Xojo have this? And does the Xojo IDE and Xojo language differ in these aspects?

“Xojo 2021 - Version Release 2.1” but that doesn’t indicate IDE or language, not sure what the “official” naming would be.

Also in general, are there any rules of thumb to finding the “official” name for software - does that come from inspecting the app file on my mac, or is that something that comes from the company directly?

Just trying to be as proper as possible. So looking from both something official from Xojo and also general tips from the community for other software.

Thanks!

The IDE isn’t a separate entity it is an integrated part of the release. The language is also unique to Xojo even if it is similar to Basic. When I’m asked the same question where I work the answer you gave “Xojo 2021 - Version Release 2.1” would be sufficient.

If you look at the About Xojo window you will see for example Version 2021 Release 1.1. At the bottom right in the IDE, you get Xojo Release 1.1 And sometimes in short it is Xojo 2021r1.1 on the Download page.

My guess is that they are all equivalent.

@Dana_Brown Do you have something official about that question ? Thanks

Both long and short versions are correct: 2021 Release 1.1 or 2021r1.1
