Please make the forum search accept a 2 character search like “4D”.
Now it just says “Your search term is too short.”.
I guess due to recent changes at the 4D side you have a lot of 4D developers incoming and they might want to search the forum for anything connected to 4D
You might want to make a feature request for that as an Issue - then we can all upvote it too.
I´m feeling a bit dumb. How do I do that?
Just change the category to “Bugs and feature requests”?
No, on the main forum screen, from which you clicked to get here, click on “Issues” at the top and towards the right hand side.
Done. Thanks for the hint.
And upvoted,
It’s a deliberate limitation in Discourse. It helps to avoid lower-spec servers getting hammered on busy forums. It is possible to change it using the “min search term length” setting. I wouldn’t really recommend Xojo change it.
I wonder if it can maintain the character limit, while allowing exceptions for known search terms, such as 4D or Pi, etc. Kind of like add to dictionary for spell check.
You might try a Google site-specific search using something like this:
site:forum.xojo.com 4d
Or simply add a Target you will call “Data Base 4D”, for example.
advance filter works as example
4D status:closed
or
4D status:open
Allowing the input of ‘3D’ would also be good.
