I just discovered that removing OneDrive can result in a Nil Object error when trying to access the user’s special folder Documents on Windows if the system still points to /USER/OneDrive/Documents/
Might want to take that into consideration when you’re coding for Windows.
OneDrive is a nightmare. It redirects your Documents foolder to the one on OneDrive. If one does not pay attention everything is on OneDrive.
I tried to get rid of that sh**t, using all kind of procedures I could find, it comes back to bite you by itself, wether on Windows 10 or 11. After I removed it, the OneDrive forlder got back in C:\Users\UserName\OneDrive on Windows 11. Hum, the icon does show anymore to the right of the Task Bar, maybe a patch from Microsoft was installed.
Microsoft works hard to force the customers to use it as well as Copilot. How hard do they work ? MacOS is very strong on giving power to the users to control their environment, except that Microsoft developed a work around to install OneDrive wether or not you want it.
Technically, OneDrive could be considered the same as a malicious virus the way it keeps showing up and people can’t entirely remove it.
