Having bought a new mac, installed latest Xcode etc, I have returned to my iOS app to add a new feature.
It compiles, runs in simulator, but suddenly, buttons that used emoji captions as images are all displaying a question mark instead.
Is this an iOS 26 thing?

..at design time
Seems it is a bug in the Simulatorsā¦
(Iām sure there used to be a way to change the title of a post, but I cannot add āSimulatorā to this one)

Clicking the title allows you to edit, but only for an undisclosed certain length of time.
You can ask for mod help renaming something too. Go to this page and click the āmessageā button in the top right corner.

Wonāt be worth doing now, and itās obviously not caught out anyone else (that has seen the post).
Currently force downloading the iOS 26.1 simulator package, which I hear might tide me over. Iāll report back
Confirmed:
Installing iOS 26.1 Simulator package (assuming you dont have it), restores the ability to use emojis
