I was just browsing around in the Xojo help documentation and came across this subject:
Custom code reformatting
There wasn’t a lot there in the way of examples but it got me wondering if it could address something that has bugged the heck out of me for quite some time. When I first started using Xojo the Select Case structure was fine. But after a while a change was made to Xojo that really messed it up. I like to see the select case structured like this:
Select Case x
Case a
Do a thing
Case b
Do another thing
Case c
Do yet another thing
End Select
Indentation typically conveys ownership through hierarchy. Currently Xojo presents it like this:
Select Case x
Case a
Do a thing
Case b
Do another thing
Case c
Do yet another thing
End Select
This structure does not convey the idea that each “Case” is owned by the Select Case/End Select structure. It makes it look like Select, Case, Case, Case, End are just sequential statements without a parent child relationship.
Is it just me or does this bother anyone else???
So, is it possible to use the “Custom code reformatting” feature of Xojo to bring back the old way of presenting the Select Case structure?
