I was recently testing out ContextClip from MacPlus Software and shared some feedback with the developer that he really appreciated. As a thank-you, he generously gave me a few licenses to share with others.
For those unfamiliar with it, ContextClip lets you take a screenshot on your Mac and copies both the image and the window’s accessibility tree to your clipboard. You can then paste that information into your favorite AI assistant.
In my experience, including the accessibility tree makes a noticeable difference in how well ChatGPT understands what’s happening in a screenshot. I imagine other AI assistants benefit just as much.
ChatGPT and Claude already offer similar functionality through their native Mac apps, so ContextClip is particularly useful if you prefer to give AI assistants limited or selective access to your computer rather than broader access.
If this sounds like something you’d find useful, let me know and I’ll send you a free lifetime license good for 3 Macs.
First come, first served! I have one license remaining.
