I have this simple test, that works on Mac and windows, but not on linux…
why?
Your project does work for me on Ubuntu Linux (Xorg, not Wayland) in Xojo 2025r2.1. On a real PC (no VM).
And that’s a key point. It has recently been seen (in this forum) that AsyncKeyDown doesn’t work properly when running in a virtual machine.

ok. i’ll need to install a pc to try.
Only if such VM was not properly configured.
For what it’s worth, I’m currently facing the same issue on a Linux computer (not a VM). Keyboard.AsyncKeyDown just never reacts, for any key. So, it really looks like AsyncKeyDown is broken on some Linux versions (Fedora is the one I’m currently trying on).
