How can I change the icon of the application through an external script before compilation?

On Mac, you can simply replace the icns after the build with a copy file.
I would like to perform a conditional compilation for both MAC and WINDOWS change the icon and name of the executable. I thought of using scripts.
You can’t directly change the icon in a script. Michel’s suggestion is your best bet.
