App submission troubles

Help !!!

I can’t seem to get it right this time!
I am trying to make a package to update a program
I am keeping it in Carbon for now. I have gone by the old link titled “Mac App Store Submission Tutorial for REAL Developers”.

I think my Certificates are good. I have downloaded the command line tools.

My package is made, but when I try to test it, it just quits without asking for any input
I my be doing something stupid, but I just can’t find it.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

THANKS

Are you running 10.9?

Is your application Sandboxed (if it’s a Carbon application, you’re going to face issues with Sandboxing).

Thanks for your help

…I do not think i have the expertise to analyze those console log messages

I am not sandboxed actually, released before the deadline.
And I am running 10.9

still looking…for the problem

If you’re trying to test in Mavericks, there is a bug which will prevent you from testing it. The only way around it is to modify your Security.framework.

You need to login to the Apple developer forums to see the temporary solution, I’m not copy pasting it here incase I violate something.

Thanks, I finally did try again and watched the console log.

Sure enough, I’m getting “store agent: Unsigned app”… error
but I do not feel comfortable with the scary unix commands : )
suggested in the forum link, I’m thinking about just attempting to
load my package “as is”.

I would sure hate for users to be unable to open it !

** Will Apples reviewers be able too reject it if thats going to happen ???

Do you have another Mac to test with first? Chances are if it works on say 10.8, it should work on 10.9.

Apple will reject it, if there are issues with your package.

Thanks !

All my Macs have been updated (save for the old PowerPC in the closet)
But I may give submission a try …

If you try to upload a non signed, non-sandboxed app, you will get an ‘invalid binary’ error.

If your app does not open, rejection will be immediate.

Good luck.

I believe that I have been signing with the wrong certificates.

The old post lists 2: “3rd Party Mac Developer Application” and “3rd Party Mac Developer Installer”

what i seem to have are “3rd Party Mac Developer Installer”, “MacDeveloper”, and “Developer ID Application”
since I renewed my certificates.

so, I was using the “3rd Party Mac Developer Installer” and the “Developer ID Application” but
maybe its the “MacDeveloper” for the App store ??

any comments ? I know i’m clue–less so don’t be mean : )

… nope, guess i will just have to submit.

Ok, so i’ve finally submitted my app !

I may understand the certificates a little better now: I WAS missing the Mac App Distribution certificate.

I have submitted my App now, but it NEVER DID “test-run” on my computer.
so, we will see.

** I do know that when my certificate was wrong, it didn’t get past
Application Loader …

fingers are crossed

thanks for all your help

Indeed for the Mac App Store, it needs to be 3rd Party Mac Developer Application & 3rd Party Mac Developer Installer.

Developer ID is for outside the Mac App Store.

App accepted and ready for sale !!

never was able to do the test on my machine…
