API1 and API2 file sizes

I noticed that a full API2 app has a bigger file size compared to the same with API1.

A new project with one button, one listbox, one textarea, one slider and one popupmenu.

API1 : 24.281.059MB (universal)
API2 : 25.450.643MB (universal)
API1-API2 mix : 25.450.643MB (universal)

The Xojo Frameworks were exactly the same - which was a surprise to me. But the bin was different.

Could someone explain why the difference?
Does this mean API2 has different code?
Optimised/Faster?
More features?

Well, if you reference some more stuff, those classes get included in the application.
