Addicted to Xojo Forum

The Xojo forum has got me hooked. Lot of good reading here on topics I have always wanted to know more about and issues I will no doubt need help with later. It is good to know that when someone posts a problem here that it doesn’t take long before it is resolved. It appears that other programmers are not only pitching in to help but competing to be first to make the fix.
Even the pointless conversations here are fun to read.

Same for me. When asking questions it’s just a couple of minutes before the correct answer pops up, no matter what time it is. This adds enormously to the ‘user experience’ of Xojo.

Also the same for me. This community is very helpfull and friendly.

A lot of experienced users here, willing to help. I appreciate the support I receive here very much. I have very much respect for what people accomplish here. On our own we are small and unimportant in this big global world. However every single person here shines in his/her own right.

This community succeed with glamour where many world leaders fail completely. We succeed in helping each other unesteemed religion, culture and country of origin. It is really nice to be around here.

Thank you all for all the support and help I received from you.

Signed. I am quite new to Xojo and could set up the initial routines for a project I had in mind for years running perfectly in only two days – because of the tremendous help in this forum. I opt for a “made possible through the help of Xojo forum members” logo – seriously.

I remember times like those. However having been away from using Real Studio for a while, this forum does not appear to be as vibrant as my memory serves.
I miss (especially) the look and the amount of posts that came from the old forum, this reminds me of the bland feel of IOS 7 that has been forced on us by Apple.
Yes, the help is still there but it does not seem to have as many users as my (aging) memory recalls.

I prefer the flat style as oppose to the old look of the iOS. I do not have much of an opinion as to which forum style I prefer. I like both but I am use to the new forum look so I would choose this over the old one.

But I think the look and feel of the forum is rather irrelevant here. I think the point is the community feel and the point that people are so willing to help. I know there are a lot of commercial, very experienced developers on here who even with their busy schedules make a lot of time for people on here and spend a lot of time answering queries. A+++

I think some of the attributes of the new forums make it easier for people to help each other. I have certain forums and threads “watched” so when new posts come in and I can (attempt) to help out. And there are other benefits of the new forums. I won’t get into them as it will start another holy war again.

The old forums had too much noise to signal ratio compared to the new ones. The new one has reduced the noise level by such a magnitude that not only the old forums go away but the NUG is all but gone.

So I think with the new forums it allows thoses overworked experts (professional programmers or not) to help out on the forums.

Thanks to all of you that help out here on the forums!

The pro only channel I would guess … If so what I was saying about the stratification of the community is starting to come to pass.

There are other factors involved with the NUG… how the switch over was handled is one… the other is that there is no obvious way to sign up for it anymore. It was disadvantaged quite a bit by Xojo inc, in favor of this forum.
