2025 r2.1 sdk 18.2

I haven’t been coding for a while but updated an app today and got the message that next week I will no longer be able to submit Apps to the store using this version of Xojo. Is that correct?

Yes, you need to use latest Xojo version for iOS.

Better see what needs updating before next week as I wasn’t planning on updating Xojo until next year

Apple requires the latest SDK and only the new Xojo supports it.

So does that also means any apps on showcase that aren’t SDK 18.2 have been removed?

Unlikely. The nuisance of Apple is that they force you to compile for whetever SDK they ship, sooner or later.

That forces you also to upgrade Xojo, because (for some reason), we cannot just tell Xojo ‘hey- go use that SDK now’ - it’s like it’s hard coded into the app.

But the ruling is that you cannot submit NEW/Updated apps after that date with an old SDK.

Older apps continue to sell, iPhones and iPads continue to be able to run them.

I had some free apps in the App Store that were 5 or 6 years old - never updated, still working.

The last ones I recall Apple removing were due to the mandatory switch from 32 to 64bit. (Which also turned some of my iPads at the time into landfill, despite working perfectly )
