Hey Paul, don’t dis the folk that live on the islands. I would love to retire to Vinalhaven and just never leave…
Yikes! Vinalhaven is lovely, but that ferry takes a long time to get there and I don’t like boats. Toughing it out on an island in the winter, especially one as remote as Vinalhaven, is for some seriously hearty folks!
Good showing today, I think we had 13 at one point. Will do it again on Thursday.
Talking to an islander last year said that they had 30 days straight of fog so thick you couldn’t see the front of your vehicle.
I just finished downloading Zoom onto my Ubuntu box. Is there anything in particular that I have to do in order to join in on Thursday?
I also signed up at the Zoom website but I think that wasn’t really necessary (unless I want to host a zoom meeting?)
Given the mandatory lock-down here in Maryland, I’m keen on getting up to speed with this kind of thing to avoid going stir-crazy.

I would recommend launching the software before Thursday to get all situated. Preparing gives you the opportunity to set up your camera and microphone config privately. On Thursday, Paul will post a link and all you need to do is click to join in 
Not necessary, but you can do things like set your display name. It’s nice to have the account handy and prepared if you need a meeting in the future!

Thanks Paul. I didn’t do much more than listen but I appreciate it. I returned to the meeting afterwards and had a video-chat with Joost and Jeremie and got comfortable with this Zoom software. Looking forward to the next time.
