Normally, I agree. However, this close to Mavericks being released, it is vital for me to make sure all my apps and processes works in Mavericks. This isn’t beta 1 of Mavericks we are talking about. I’m glad I went through this otherwise I would have no idea what works and what doesn’t. I don’t like surprises. I now know that all of my “production” stuff works in Mavericks… do you?
I’m not telling you you shouldn’t. I’m saying I understand why they say it.
I know my production stuff works in Mavericks, but the codesign code is not “my production stuff” and sending an app to the store codesigned with beta software surely isn’t testing “my production stuff” either. If it got approved you’d be sending end users applications made with somebody else’s beta tools, tools they specifically advise against using that way. It’s your choice to do so, but I said I’d understand if they didn’t condone it and even if they didn’t make it easy or even possible.
I won’t extend further with this reply because that “do you?” at the end sounds unnecessarily antagonistic and agressive (and a few other I’d rather stop myself from listing).
My apologies, didn’t mean to sound that way. That was not my intention at all. It was meant as just caution that Mavericks is getting close and that people (not you directly) should check their production processes. I should have chosen my words better.
