New file type editor results in wrong or blank file icons

Head meets keyboard. Thanks Sam.

Sometimes I wonder about the interface choices that Xojo makes. Why isn’t this part of the new and improved File Types editor? Something like “Mac only Settings”.

Mac only setting are in the Mac only build settings rather than clutter up an editor with yet more platform specific things

I kind of have to agree with the @Beatrix Willius , I do believe that these settings should be specified when the user creates the File Type. I can understand not wanting to clutter up the File Type editor, but it does appear that the extra options are often missed, and then we get questions just like this.

Plus we’re only talking two options, which could possibly be whittled down to one really. Role, if it’s set to none, then it works as if the checkbox is unselected.

@Normal: sorry, that doesn’t make sense to me. With the same argument you could put the UTI stuff into the build settings, too.

Anyways, I’ve made a couple of feature requests and a bug report:
<https://xojo.com/issue/42463>: Move FilesTypes functionality from Build Settings OS X to FileTypes Editor
<https://xojo.com/issue/42464>: Make FileTypes editor remember state
<https://xojo.com/issue/42465>: Order FileTypes in FileTypes Editor alphabetically
<https://xojo.com/issue/42466>: FileTypes Editor scrolls too far.

And the FileType settings for some of the Xojo files are screwed up. I haven’t been able to open some files with the new file endings.
