Well… Can’t tell details, but believe me, it’s true. I needed to create an ugly automation system doing a kind of complex task using a “not cheap framework” from a not very known company, costing thousands of dollars, not designed for such tasks, even after saying to the interested parts that I could do it faster and better using proper currently available tools costing only my time already paid.
I was once paid a 3 figure sum to write an app that was exactly like an off the shelf app that only cost £50.
When the client got the first release, they said “it’s not quite like . Can you make it more like that?”
Why they didn’t save money and buy the other app is beyond me.
I had the privilege of writing an app that simulated penguin breeding populations in zoos for a zoo
