Making A Copy Of A Folder

I would hope the individual performing a backup would have administrative privileges (executive permissions)? Asynchronous Shell would reveal any bugs using Shell.Result, just as Xojo would. Just sharing options for future generations… options are always good

Hi Charles and Matthew. Thanks for taking the time to help me. I got Charles’s code to work the way I wanted it to, so I think I’m all set. It works for both Windows and Mac. I ended up changing it a little so all the user has to do is click a button and the system files are backed up to the Backups folder. They don’t have to choose the source and destinations folders. It seems to work correctly.

Thanks so much for posting the example file. Examples really help me understand what is going on.
