@Carlo Rubini Sam, I’m getting confused. Do you mean that, in a sandboxed app, DB records can be updated without having the DB file moved/copied into the container or without modifying the plist?

Yet, in a sandboxed app, after double-clicking the file or opening it via openDialog, if I don’t move/copy it into the container, calling file.update raises a database error 14: unable to open the file.
Really confusing.

Yeah. I did back when entitlements were originally announced, during the preview period. It was answered as “known issue”. It’s a famous reason for people leaving the MAS. But I don’t lose hope of finding someone that’s found a loophole or was approved when before they wouldn’t have.
