Probably a stupid question, but here I go:
Cant you automate the process (read the old data base contents and generate the new one spliting the field that have to be separated in two fields ?
(insted of asking ancien users to do that by themseves ?)
And if this is possible, do not forget to publicize the change so old users will no more fill the two fields (new way) into the old one.
That would be possible if there was a unique separator. In my example I used “-”, but someone else might have used a semicolon or any other char.
Yes, launching the new release there will be a brief explanation why a new “subtitle” field has been added.
