NOT “xojo.code prefix”. “xojo.core prefix”. Why does the forum always prevent edit when it is needed ?
Using Xojo.core
Ok, now I am intrigued. I will download and read the docs
Thanks
Well after reading through the releases and bug fixes and improvements, I will purchase the desktop version, pretty low risk for $99 US (about 150 cdn…argh). But hey, it looks like alot of effort has gone into the product of late
Thanks again to all who responded…
I understand the architecural difference between 32bit and 64bit…
But what FEATURES does it make available? That is what is XOJO (or any other product) going to give me that they are not or cannot give me now. I’m talking FEATURES not increased speed…
As far as I know, at least in a first stage, 64 bit won’t bring in more than faster execution and larger memory space. On Windows I understand there should not be .NET for instance, and it will remain Win32. For Mac, there may not be more features, but you may think about it as negative logic. Since already some parts of Cocoa seem deprecated for 32 bit in Yosemite (Sam Rowlands bumped into that), it is not so much a question of new features as keeping what works today. As Apple will start rejecting 32 bit only apps in the iOS App Store in a couple weeks, the writing is probably on the wall for OS X.
I do not know which platform you are purchasing, but 64 bit is coming. Very soon iOS, then if I understand right Linux, and afterward all chances are it will be Mac, followed by Windows. That promises faster execution, and much larger memory space.
