Once you upload your data anywhere, you no longer own it. Even if the repository has the best of intentions at the moment. Could change overnight.
AI will soon generate a large percentage of online accessible documents. Then future versions of AI will train on that material. Does anyone remember the party game “Gossip”? Where you whisper something to the next guy in line, who turns and passes it on?
And it’s getting worse with Apple’s OCD regarding security especially in Sequoia.
I can go to my “Documents” Folder that is in my favorites. It shows one set of files, yet says it’s iCloud > Documents. Yet if I go to the iCloud Icon and go to Documents, I see everything. I’m seeing this when trying to access files from applications as well.
I am even seeing instances where my own folders that I have created change permissions and I am not allowed to access them!
I also must have five copies of different iCloud folders that happen because iCloud sometimes can’t figure out how to properly sync things.
