I am kind of baffled about it. Whats the point of even having a folderitem object if its just a text path? Perhaps we can figure out how to bring the folderitem on windows and linux up to par with how it used to work on the Mac and actually improve that while fixing what is now broken on the Mac by using the proper API as linked to by you guys above.
No thanks. FolderItem on MS-Windows is already too inefficient without adding additional non-native cruft on top.
