FYI, the Yosemite Public Beta will be available from tomorrow, July 24. I’ve a little post about it at www.xojonews.com. If, like me, you’re on the (paying) Mac Developer program, you’ve already got this version (it came out on Monday this week) but it’s available to everyone else from tomorrow.
on my Macbook Pro…I’m seeing parts of the screen where the video is in blocks that looks like TV snow…and so far the only way to get rid of it is reboot…happens pretty frequently…I haven’t updated to the latest yet though maybe that will solve it…
I’ve seen some Xojo specific issues but two are already fixed by Joe and will be available for Xojo 2014r3 (which is too late for the Yosmite release).
If you use HUD windows you will see some strange behaviour too - transparent text etc…
I did report this at bugreport.apple.com and they cannot reproduce this. So it could well be an Xojo issue.
The one I’m seeing is definitely not
Just starting Yosemite I see it - looks like a TV thats lost its signal
Can often get it to go away but its certainly not a great first impression
Mine’s a mid 2012 rMBP as well
None of my Xojo compiled Sandboxed apps are working in 10.10 if they need to create a folder in Application data. It simply fails to create the folder. I hope this is something they just haven’t implemented yet in these early betas…
First install a previous version of the system in VB, then copy the Yosemite ‘Install OS X 10.10 Developer Preview.app’ over there, and launch.
You can also show the file package content, and find InstallESD.dmg in Contents/SharedSupport to burn a DVD.
I very much doubt the EULA would let you install in VirtualBox to run on anything but a Mac, though, and a virtual Mac is probably not a very good idea if you really want to test Yosemite.
In order to avoid erasing my own stable default Mavericks installation, what I have done is to simply install Yosemite on an external drive.
