I hardly ever restart Xojo, and I never restart my MacBook anyway.
Perhaps your projects are a fair bit bigger? Although I don’t think ours are exactly small either.
Big project currently at 726 classes, smaller project 470 or so.
A computer is not made not to restart from time to time.
When I was working at Apple France (an thenat home), I always Quit / Shutdown the afternoon/evening before going home, then when I came back the next morning, I pressed the Start (Power Up) button, then say hellow to my work friends; When back to my desk, the computer was ready to work (no wait time).
PS: I know some people try not (never ?) rebooting their computer.
BTW: Installing Golden Gate allows me to see the MacBook Pro re-bouting after the full installation was done (2 reboots).
Now, you do things your way.
12 hours in the hotel ? I will never do that, I prefer building a test application whith less time to wait (here I do not know what the “less time” means in minutes - hours ?) and run the application to test how my last changes go.
How long has it been now? I reckon quite a lot has changed in the world of hardware and software in the meantime.
Apple has even gone so far as to place the power button on the underside of the Mac Mini, because you simply never need to switch the devices off or restart them.
And even after weeks without a restart, the devices still run just as well as ever.
According to Codex, one of our larger projects also has 728 classes and 669 windows.
Do you remember the Apple Mouse who cannot be used while recharging ?
(the USB button was below the mouse… ![]()
But, if you’re happy like that, continue.
I meet a University Professor (CSU) who never update its computer (laptop) because it was conceived to work as is…
Who was I to explain him otherwise ?
And I do not laugh.
And Claude Code (or any other coding agent) could call the compiler to check its changes and verify it didn’t break anything.
Aren’t you afraid that the computer might overheat and the fan might be running at full speed?
