# Windows: DesktopTextField BackgroundColor is ignored when Password property is True

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed a specific behavior in Windows (tested on Windows 11) regarding the DesktopTextField control. It seems that BackgroundColor and TextAlignment properties are being overridden or ignored when the Password property is set to True.

Is this behavior expected?

PS: Xojo 2026 r1

No, sounds like a bug, although is this only with WinUI enabled?

Yes, this is with WinUI enabled.  
With WinUI disabled it works normally.
