I thought it would be pushed through Windows Update.

I wonder if Microsoft considered that interpretation.

You are correct. It will be.

The ISOs are for clean installs. Having “Update” in the name is misleading.

Apparently, if you’re wanting to clean install Windows 10 Creators Update on a Mac with Bootcamp, you need to install the Windows 10 Anniversary Update first and then update from there.

On are real Windows PC, I just went to the link from the first post, and pressed Update.

95% of that is standard stuff that a company needs to know to handle core systems, like updates, crash reporting, etc. Then ther’s another level for the added app functionality (voice, ink, etc). At least they are telling us now.

I for one don’t really mind, at the end of the day, everyone is more than welcome to vote with their feet and change OS.

If you are bothered, just run a old OS in a VM for your “secure”  stuff.

That uproar about Windows 10 reporting stuff is kind of amusing when people use Google tools, where all their work is sent to Google.

They have been known to switch teams.

Not me, I’ve kicked Google Analytics from all my Websites using piwik. And of course I am using duckduckgo and never used Google Documents.

I would hate sending all my files to Google. I don’t save to the cloud, unless I intend to share the files, I don’t work with online applications and prefer local apps.

But as I wrote several times, it is probably generational. Younger crowds store everything in the cloud and don’t mind sharing the most intimate aspects of their life.
