Win8.iso

Hi,
does anyone know if it possible to obtain a Windows 8.iso file?

I purchased Windows 8 a while back, but my email address has since changed and recently my hard drive became corrupted and I lost my .iso file.
I still have my serial number, but can’t locate the actual .iso file, so am looking to download it from somewhere.

Thank you.

Thanks Matthew but I am on a Mac, so I can’t run the actual setup.exe which gets downloaded :frowning:

I need to somehow download the .iso file directly, so that I can run VMWare fusion and create the OS.

Click the option to download the iso…theres three methods…

  1. upgrade (from web)
  2. install fresh (from web)
  3. download for disk media (ISO)

Direct iso download

Matthew,
the direct download link works fine but I would rather download it from the official Microsoft site, BUT I am not presented with 3 choices?

There is simply an Install Windows 8.1 button, and an Install Windows 8 button.
When I click on that - it downloads a Windows 8 setup.exe (which I cannot use because I am on a Mac).

How are you being presented with 3 choices??

Its because I already have 8…its prompting for the 8.1 iso download (must already have 8 present)…

Microsoft no longer issues ISOs after reading this:

You will have to download the retail iso from a 3rd party source (or buy a copy)…which is LEGAL so as long as a legit reg code is used during activation. Microsoft does not limit distribution of OS isos…only pirating.

I have already bought a copy of Windows 8, and have my serial number - just need the crappy iso file
What did you mean download the retail iso from a third party? Are you saying that certain websites provide downloadable iso’s ?

It seems that your best option will be to get a DVD from someone who has Windows 8. I would not trust what circulates on the web. There are a few editions of Windows 8 (Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Enterprise). You will need the right ISO or DVD. Specifically, which one do you have a licence for?

Thank you all!

I was tempted to pick up a copy of Windows 8 the other week, but I’m still loathed to pay half the price of a PC that comes with Windows 8!

The trouble is, I don’t really do enough Windows work to justify purchasing a second PC, even though the one I have is dog gone slow and runs Vista…
