Another way to speed up a project load time is to use a Post-Build Script to add the icons to the application. Of course, the drawback is they do not appears when running in the IDE, but you gain TIME with the project load operations.

This isn’t the case with all drives. The computer that has my old OCZ Vertex II 240 GB typically runs with around 20 GB free or less and no issues or slow down. That generation of SandForce controller was one of the first to effectively eliminate write slow down, and the size is 240 because 16 GB of over provisioning is locked in.

For some drives/controllers you may be spot on. You just have to look online and see what the recommendations are for the model you’re using.

For the 50 GB: I think until 20 GB is fine, but due to the volume of data I deal (add) everyday, trying to stick to a 50 GB minimum is good for me (hard to keep).
