Fun, cringeworthy read. Thanks for sharing :stuck_out_tongue:

was funny, but got boring about 1/3 way down

I’ve worked on a few JS projects in the last 18 months. This article exactly describes how I felt about the whole landscape.

There is a definite amount of snobism going on about JS. Let alone people who cannot stand anything but JQuery…

Will you reject a job opportunity because you have to use Java (when you are fluent in Java, of course) ?

Yes, I will!

@Emile: Javascript <> Java

Sorry ! (once again) I misread :frowning:
Is bicycle bad for my readings ?
(my car is for repair today…)

This happened this week:
In reference to my earlier conversation here about modulus10 the bank offered me an api - free of charge!!
After my excitement about getting anything free I unpacked the zip file.
Written in Java, complete with Library, a dozen methods - the whole hog.
It went straight into the bin.
In Xojo, the method takes 6 lines of code!
I rest my case

For those banks I once wrote my Java bridge plugin so you can call Java methods.
But of course they often just wrap a webservice, so we can feeds that directly in Xojo.

The sad thing is he didn’t stretch it out for effect. That’s really what it’s like.
