Why does remote debugging on a Windows VM load slower when Xojo's not the frontmost window?

Pecking this out while waiting for Xojo to launch the application on a Windows VM running in Parallels. (I’m running Mac OS X.)

The progress bar for ‘launching application’ is pretty slow when Xojo isn’t the frontmost app (i.e. doesn’t have the focus). When I switch back to it it gets faster.

Why would that be?

When Xojo is in the background on OS X, it probably gets throttled by app nap.

Remote debug used to be ridiculously slow, and then they made some improvements so it’s only incredibly slow (apologies if I have the wrong terms here?

There are a number of bugs outstanding with times & socket performance for Xojo apps, and I suspect that the IDE is also suffering from those as well?
