Who do you host your web site with?

Having continual problems with the company that hosts my website, so while I’m on the phone with them, yet again, I’m looking at competition.

Who do you use to host your website and why?

I use an european provider OVH to have my domain name, and hosts some small space and email redirection.
as I have fiber at home recently, and 700Mb/s upload, I’m going to host the server there in the near futur !

I’d love to host it at my home, but I think I would have to move to do so.

Depends on if you want just a dumb webhotel or a VPS style solution.

I use Linode(https://www.linode.com/) and am very happy with them

Just some dumb space to host a HTML website.

I use Digital Ocean and configure my regular websites with Lifeboat. The “Static Files” configuration can serve plain HTML / PHP websites as well as static files for Xojo apps.

My Strawberry Software website is using Lifeboat

Ohanaware’s SSL certificate is misbehaving again:

I’m now with Power-Netz(https://power-netz.de) for 10 years. They explained quickly why my website is only graded B.

I’ve had good experience with Linode and Digitalocean. Linode also have object storage which you can use as static website hosting.
A traditional webhost I’ve had good experience with is NetIM (NetIM.com)

Also seeing an issue with Ohanawares certificate, says it expired 10 days ago.

I’ll throw in another vote for DigitalOcean @Sam_Rowlands. I’ve used them for many years for dozens of websites including several high traffic businesses. Top notch performance, great tutorials, support and really reasonable pricing.

For my HTML sites, I use dreamhost.com.

I’ve hosted all my sites at pair.com since 1996. Not the cheapest, but ridiculously reliable, and very responsive tech support.

Which is the problem, it only occurs for some customers, some times.

After several hours on the phone last night, and they completed their latest round of checks and fixes, I was immediately given the incorrect certificate (which expired 10 days ago).

Today someone from their executive team will contact me, supposedly…

I recommend Digital Ocean.
