Which version of Xojo should I use?

I would like to upgrade my Xojo license (2019r1.1), but I am undecided on which version to use: which one do you recommend (in terms of reliability, stability and completeness)?
Thanks everyone.

That’s not quite how it works. You purchase a license that gives you access to the current version (plus a year of updates) and that same license also gives you access to older versions.

To better answer your question, we’ll need to know what you use Xojo for. Web? Windows? etc.

Thank you, Eric.

In the immediate future I would use Xojo for desktop/console applications in a Windows environment.
But in the near future I would also like to use it for web applications, for which I am currently using version 2019r2.1 (despite knowing the huge difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0)

I think the better you have to do is to familiarize with the current version and buy a license for 2025r1 when available (around the end of March).

With the coming deprecation of Windows 10, and Xojo 2019 ↔ Xojo 2025 there are a lot of changes and better start on a solid base (as you ask).; as you now old bugs removal are not rolled to ancient versions. Learning new things ? Better learn the last new things (than x years in the past). and redo that in x years.

Thanks Emile!
So you’re telling me that the best thing is to use the latest version available, precisely because the bug fixes are not reported in previous versions.
Sounds like good advice to me!

Yes, but first,
duplicate your current project,
load it with Xojo 2024r4.2

and accustom you to the current version.

Ans as usual, feel free to ask questions about the changes; some are obvious, some gain a parameter (locale for example) it does not had, and I let users of the current version to continue this explanation.

Pick a version and hope for the best. Chances are you will find something broken and you will just have to deal with it.

Personally I’d always advocate the latest version.
