What license for freely distributable encrypted code

Hello,

I have a library of code I’d like to release for free but there is some encrypted part in it. I own the copyright of this encrypted part and want it to stay encrypted in order to sell this part of the source code in the future.
I’ve searched for a license matching my needs, but couldn’t find one. Has anybody had to deal with this case and have any hint about a proper license that still authorize free distribution?

TIA.

One thing you will notice… very few developers are interested in encrypted source code. for a few reasons.

  • it is impossible to tell what else is in the code (could be hidden malware etc)
  • there is no way to tweak/modify the code should a future version of XOJO or the OS make the current code not work

Why don’t you release it as freeware? That way you retain your copyright and it would be free to use.
