Valentina Release 18.1.1 adds CLI, Query Editor Improvements

Paradigma Software announces Valentina Release 18.1.1, which includes improvements in Valentina Studio, Valentina Server and Valentina ADKs for Xojo. This is a free update if you purchased within the last 12 months or recently got Valentina products through Omegabundle for Xojo 2026.

Highlights include:

  • Valentina Command-Line Interface. The vcli command is included with Valentina Studio and Valentina Server packages and provides terminal-based access to local databases and Valentina Server. Execute SQL from the command line, a file, standard input, or an interactive terminal.
  • Query Editor Improvements. Added sorting and pagination to nested queries and database-specific pagination for SQL set operations to Valentina Studio, Valentina Studio PRO and Valentina Studio PRO Universal.
  • Server Security. Explicit two-stage administrator bootstrap flow for new installations and better credentials handling. Administrator credentials can be supplied through VSERVER_ADMIN_USER and VSERVER_ADMIN_PASSWORD or through the [SETUP] section of vserver.ini.Better Docker support.
  • Valentina ADK for Xojo Improvements. Prepared-statement bind methods use zero-based value indexes for ValentinaDB, SQLite, and DuckDB.

Other improvements include numerous fixes, localization tweaks and speed bumps you’ve come to expect. Valentina Studio is available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, Polish and Ukrainian.

Haven’t the prepared statements not always done that?

I really like the new and improved download page. But should I be able to read the text?

I think it is possible that in 18 or 18.1 (this is 18.1.1) that it may have changed, and this restores the proper way. I believe there are some notes about this on the wiki (you can also ask on our forum - Sergey can give a better explanation of what / why).

Regarding the download, that’s the default view from the main menu downloads (someone may have changed it over the weekend), but if you click on the side bar navigation, you’ll see the ‘old way’.
