Using external Libraries in a Xojo Project

As the title suggests, I would like to know as a newbie to xojo, how to use my own libraries in a Xojo project.

Can you drag the library into the contents area of the IDE, and then use declares to access the libraries functions ?

Or do declare calls only work on the operating system wide libraries only ?

Thanks in advance.

No, the IDE doesn’t handle external libraries. On the Win32 side of Xojo (other OS’s might be a little different,) external libraries are located and loaded at runtime, and they can be located anyplace the operating system is configured to look for them. If you’re declaring into OS api’s then you don’t need to worry about where the library is located, only if it’s available. If you’re using a 3rd party library then you should put the library file in the same directory as your built executable.

Sorry! I forgot to mention that I was looking at a Mac only project senario.
