Unable to associate *.xojo_binary_project with Xojo.exe

Win11 24H2. Putting this in off-topic because I think this is a Windows issue. Although it would be nice if Xojo could put a button in Preferences to associate the currently running version with known filetypes.

Here’s what I’m trying:

  1. Right click a Xojo project, choose “Open With”
  2. Skip past all the old Xojo.exe entries (old versions that have been uninstalled) at the top of the app list and select “Choose an app on your PC”
  3. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Xojo\Xojo 2024r3\Xojo.exe
  4. Select it and choose “Always”

This works with other filetypes/programs but with Xojo filetypes it immediately brings up the “Open With” dialog again.

I have a similar experience in the Settings app, under “Choose defaults by file type”. I choose the proper Xojo.exe and it seems to work but double-clicking a .xojo_binary_project still brings up the “Open With” dialog.

Anyone have any ideas or experiencing something similar?
