Does today’s big Xojo Sale have any love for renewals?
Because the renewal button seems to be disabled on my profile today.

Did you select the license you want to renew?
Without selecting the license look like this:
after selecting the license (checkbox) that I want to renew:
That was it… good advice.
Also jumped in on the sale and was confused by this. The website team may want to rethink this UI.
But in any case, thank you to Xojo for the sale. You all are stuck with me for at least another two years.
No receipt sent by email so far, however?
To be honest, I was quite disappointed with the ‘huge sales’. I had definitely expected the discounts to be quite big (e.g. 50% and more). But 30% I think is too little to bite the bullet. I pass.
In my experience, sales only do a big boom when you give bigger discounts of 50% and more. For less, not many people bite.
Of course, it’s nice that if you wanted to buy a renewal anyway, you get an extra small discount.
I got my email receipt within seconds. Check spam?
Here’s how I look at it. The cost of a Pro subscription is $799, but the renewal comes with a 10% discount, so $719.10 per year, assuming Xojo doesn’t raise prices.
With the sale you have the option to pay $1119.00 today for a two-year renewal, saving $319.20 over the regular price of $1438.20 (which you would pay if you renewed each year at $719.10).
If you invested the $1119.00 today, we want to find the annual yield r that would allow the investment to grow so that the total amount saved over the next two years is equivalent to $319.20 (the amount saved).
1119*(1+r)^2 =1438.20
r = Sqrt(1438.20 / 1119) - 1
That means if instead of renewing Xojo for two years today you invested your $1119.00 it would have to yield 13.37% per year for two years to break even with the sale.
The average stock market return is around 10% per year, so you’d have to beat the market two years in a row just to break even.
Also, if you need to withdraw the $719.10 from your investment after a year to pay for the next renewal, that makes it even more in the sale’s favor - the math made my head hurt here but suffice to say it’s not likely to happen.
For me at least mathematically, the sale works.
No, they have a problem with the email date.

Not sure if they think that this is a problem that needs to be solved. At least I wasn’t the only one to have this problem.
Yeah my experience was weird. I was signed in already, went to my licenses list, checked my license… and had no renew button to click. So I backed up a level, clicked renew, checked my license, and then was able to renew. At checkout, I needed to confirm my password, which cleared my cart and I had to start the process over. So… that wasn’t great. And that’s coming from the person that wrote a large percentage of that code.
True, the last price increase for Desktop version was higher (33 %) than the “huge discount” of 30 % yesterday. Not impressive.
You can go to Xojo website and when logged in there is an “Orders” menu, from there you can save all your past purchase receipts.
