IMO, Xojo by not supporting projects on shared volumes, is promoting a screwdriver to push a nail.

No it was not. I booted an Apple IIgs from an AppleShare volume (I was at my desk around Paris - Apple France - and the AppleShare server was @ Apple Marseille, 1,000 KM away). It was 35/40 years ago…
OK, I should have said Apple only. I do go back as far as the original Apple II, so that is correct.
I meant local as in “on your home network”. A NAS qualifies for that.
It can be. The config file is just somewhere else. I’ll try to find that.
