Hi,
I am happy to recommend Xojo to anyone, and would gladly post reviews regarding Xojo BUT, I object to having to create 4 different accounts on third party websites, just to do this.
I can only imagine the amount of spam I would begin to get, and was wondering why user’s cannot post reviews directly on the Xojo website??
Why depend on other websites for reviews, when you could do it in-house???
I am sure you would get LOTS of reviews if you made this option available.
There are many reasons. “Spreading” in one place is one of them.
Because the other websites are where people go to look for software.
Even a lot of iOS or MAS store only software will be on them.
Reviews on external sites are given a lot of weight by Google, making it easier for people to find out about Xojo. Reviews on our own web site would not really help with that.
External mentions of Xojo help a lot. Such are reviews, blog posts, forum posts, etc.
I understand that external reviews are better than internal ones, but I would still imagine that reviews on the actual Xojo website would still be beneficial??
Surely the more reviews (anywhere) the better?
The reason I ask, is that there are probably a lot of users like myself who would be more than happy to post a Xojo review, but do not want to sign up with third parties just to do this.
It just seems a shame to not be able to ALSO do it through the Xojo website
How about the testimonials page?
Not sure full blown reviews on Xojo.com are going to be given much weight by anyone looking for a dev tool. Testimonials are enough…
How do I add a testimonial, and is there a word limit??
Can’t find an add testimonial link?
May be an invitational thing - email customer services?
Thanks - I will try that.
This is why you should have a special email account for those sites.
Really helps to keep all the noise down while still allowing your voice to be heard.
You can create an account and unsubscribe from all email - that’s what I usually do.
The goal of getting more reviews outside of our community is to drive new users to our site, not communicate with people who are already on our site. This helps grow the Xojo community, which helps both you and us. Each review makes a big difference! I’d like to have hundreds of reviews of Xojo on each of these sites to give prospective users a good, well-rounded picture of what using Xojo is like, but ultimately we want them to just try it for themselves, which is what they’ll probably do. We can’t only communicate about our product on our site! How would people find us ?
Pens or a 10% coupon code for anyone who posts a review and lets me know about it!

Send me something and I’d be happy to post it! These are taken from emails and posts, where we get permission from the poster to include on our website.

Sometimes it does matter where reviews are posted.
Reviews are mostly read by users that are still in the decision making phase of a product (should I use it, or should I not). Users on this Xojo forum probably already decided to use Xojo.
The point I’m trying to make is that external reviews will probably be much more effective to attract new prospects than an internal review would be, simply because the audience on this forum already made the decision to use Xojo.
Further, shameless offers: We’ve got Xojo stickers too!
Thanks Dana.
Just to clarify - I fully understand that users will originally find out about Xojo from third party websites.
The point I was trying to make is that there will also be potential customers who will be told by word-of-mouth, who will then go directly to the Xojo website.
Therefore, my point was that it may ALSO be beneficial to have reviews on the Xojo website. I have however, since found out that there are testimonials on the Xojo site
Phew.
Now - If I post a review on ALL of those websites, AND make a testimonial, what goodies do I get???
Do you by chance have any Xojo gimp masks???

I seem to remember that the Xojo or RealStudio (as it was called) homepage had review highlights. I don’t know if they still do though.

If word-of-mouth directing people to the Xojo website then the person telling them about will probs give the potential customer for Xojo a small review and the potential customer will try it for themselves. I did that with one of my friends and after giving my positive review he decided to download it right away.
There’s another good idea for a Xojo item at XDC! I wonder if yall want those or coffee mugs!
Seriously everyone - even if only 10 of you guys post a review, it will do our community a world of good!
Please post here and let me know if you post a review on the sites
Where there’s a will there’s a way !
