Spotlight Xojo Control and narrowing down search location

Does anyone know how I can narrow down the location to search? I’ve looked through all the docs I can find and get kMDItemPath, which Apple says doesn’t working for searching.

Apple’s APIs for NSMetaDataQuery have a separate property as far as I can tell.

Doesn’t it follow what is defined in Spotlight preferences/privacy ?

I’m sure it does; but I’d like to narrow it down to a specific (user chosen) folder.
