Set backColor for specific words in a TextArea

It looks good. Do you know if Lexing plug-in works in 64 bit builds?

I tried to use it, but I get a compilation error.

Instead, CustomTextField works well (in the demo project), but I was not able to to make it work in my app. When I copy and paste the component (as shown in the readme file), my app runs, but the component seems frozen (cannot write inside, cannot copy/paste, etc…).

I have the same problem, were you ever able to get it to work?

CustomTextField is based on deprecated technology anyway
Lots of things wont work correctly in it

you really should use TextInputCanvas

Two open issues … from 2013 and 2014 … do not inspire confidence.

Is it actually maintained by anyone?

This exactly makes my point about “Xojo should open source…”
We did
And we’re the only contributor so whats the point ? there’s no advantage for us beyond giving the code away

And yes there is

BTW the excellent Formatted Text Control from Bkeeney Software http://www.bkeeney.com/formatted-text-control/ does also backcolor very nicely. And much, much more

I never regretted buying it to enhance Check Writer III.
