2015R3 is currently in beta. Why 2.5 ?
Would it not be more productive that the bug be fixed in R3 or subsequent versions ?
Anyone know how far BACK this bug goes? I’m using 2014 R 2.1 and feeling safe, but am I?

So everyone should wait with their release until R3 is out? What about those whose licence ends before R3 is out?
Serious bugs like this should be squashed even for older releases. The main concern should not be the productivity of Xojo but the productivity of its users.
You can check using “Preview Reset” (beta version available from the following link) and the latest version of App Wrapper (as v 3.4.1 or newer auto fixes these issues).

Well it’s a bug and you should be aware of this. But please consider the context:
a) it is marked as solved in Beta and will be released soon
b) as far as I can see, this bug first and only occured in Sams Software Shine. Sam did a great job in finding and fixing and Apple pushed his update within hours to the MAS.
You should be aware of this, yes, but please Markus don’t bark up a tree.

Thanks, Sam, this would help for an individual, but I think it would be even more useful if we had a definitive statement about which version(s) of Xojo are impacted so authors know what to do…
This only affects 2015r2 and its point releases
And only IF you happen to allow the app to accept drops of files listed in your file types
