If they add camera and GPS support, and then release it, then that might be an option for the 30-40% of my users who are asking for an Android app instead of the iOS app that I currently provide.
That article is a year and a half old. It looks like the project has been renamed Cycada, but I cannot find that it is an actual product at the point.
Well, MIT students have been known to create their own startups out of ideas like that. I hope a VC approaches them and makes that happen.
