Two weeks? I’ve had 4 days at max. Up to 6 days might be normal but weeks seems like a long time.
What is the status of your submission in iTunes Connect?

2 weeks actually in review or waiting on review? If it’s actually been in review for 2 weeks, something is wrong. I’d contact them, that isn’t normal. At the moment, I see review times of around 1.5 days.
Worth checking: http://appreviewtimes.com
That’s not the same thing. That shows how long an app takes from submission to review being completed. Walter said his review had started (assuming that’s what he meant), which normally takes a day or a few days tops.
The “In Review” part? The longest I had was 3 days.
The status for this app is “In Review” in iTunesConnect. This for two weeks! How Apple test a app for say that is stable? Ok, now ones know about it in detail. Perhaps for some Apps Apple need a longer time? Or really a problem?
Hmm, I must write to Apple. Thanks for your answers.
My last two app’s took 3 days each.
You’re lucky… The longest I’ve had was six weeks for a seasonal product. It crippled our ability to earn from a 6 month investment. I ended up writing to Tim Cook in the end!
I would advise contacting them also, but if you get the response “It’s in review and the review will be completed when it’s ready”, then no matter who you contact… Thats the response you’re going to get.
After our 6 week wait, we were rejected for using a security-scoped bookmark to store references to image files within the application bundle. However from what I understand on ADF, it may be that they’re checking copyrights or something along that vein.
Mine took 5 days in it first version, updates 3 days and 30 minutes for sale status.
2 weeks is a lot of time. Are you using encryption in your App?
Really 6 weeks and Tim Cook? Wow. Ok, I see that can be normal. I think, perhaps the question is the kind of App. Some Apps are diffucult for say that is really stable. Sometimes I pray that the App is possible for MAS. But then Apple test this for 2 weeks, this sounds good?
Sam, but your App is in the store, now?
My decision was yesterday, I wait and will not nerve Apples Tester ;-).

This is a good question, it seems since the US introduced new laws on encryption it’s made more complicated to use encryption. Which kinda worries me as I will want to use it in several apps we’re producing this year, but leads me to worry about not being to sell it on the App Store. Has anyone here released an app with encryption on the Mac App Store? If so, would you mind sharing how complicated it was?
It’s hard to speculate what the issue can be. For us, the issue seemed ridiculous that it took 6 weeks to reject our app.
It is, but losing half the seasonal time really affected the ability to earn and thus this project resulted in a loss to our company.
I think this is a very good attitude, especially if you can remain calm
We did?
Sorry, I should have said the US government, not the people of the US!
And yup, there are now laws in place for those selling software that contain encryption, and it’s a mess. It’s kind of ironic as we’re based in Taiwan, but sell through US agents so we’re not a US company, but still have to fill in the online paperwork. I normally just tick that our software is not applicable, because like most government issued paperwork, it seems to be created for lawyers and not human beings.
The EAR is about exporting encryption to certain bad countries. Most US based developers simply handle the issue with their EULA. For example, at the end of the Xojo EULA:
Apple seems to be insisting on a stricter level of compliance in order to get into their store.
Side by side comparison… Google advises developers to investigate compliance issues for themselves and simply blocks downloads from embargoed countries:

Any resolution? App updates are usually faster than 1.0 reviews but I had an app In Review for less than 4 minutes last night, not bad going! (It was Waiting on Review for 2 days)
Sam, it is good to hear that the app is in MAS. :-). Actually I can not change that. Status is “in Review”. Nothing changed. In a few days a go to holiday and can not change anything on the app ;-). I hope the best for no changes and wait for a decision from Apple.
Gavin, 4 Minutes in Review? What do your App?

If you have not used cryptography, or something exceptional, maybe you simply need to get back to the top of the pile. If nothing moves, you could reject the app and reupload. And maybe add comments for the reviewer if you think some explanations about what does your app and how can help him understand what it is all about.
