Returning datatype of a mySQL field

What is the syntax of getting the datatype of a field?

In other words if I have a table Called myTable bandit has fields called ID and myField

How can I query the mySql server to tell me the datatype of myField?

Have a look at the Schema methods on the database object. That should give you all you need.

You want the type as mysql knows it or as it will be handled in a recordset / query from Xojo ?

@Norman Palardy

As mysql knows it.

You could use DESCRIBE.

Dim rst As Recordset = myDB.SQLSelect("DESCRIBE myTable;")

As wayne said - DESCRIBE works very nicely
