RegCode VS. Kagi Registration

Hi,
I was wondering what is the best if possible free to make some window in menu bar (or before lunch app) where user enter his license and use the application.
I found RegCode downloaded but it doesnt work, msg show up: “Element extern ‘cog_error’ can’t be find” sorry if its not exactly in Eng same, but I use French.
Original msg in French: “l’element extern ‘cog_error’ n’a pas pu tre trouv”.

I also downlaoded something from mbs forum site, called: “Kagi Registration Modul” but I don’t know use it, and it seems like it has only credit cart payment and I will need paypal if possible, as ppl dont liek to enter in some app their credit cards numbers and all.

Thanks

To use Kagi you’d have to have an account with them: http://kagi.com
There are other processors, like eSellerate: http://mycommerce.com/esellerate
A processor is just a third party to take payment and issue licenses.

I haven’t gotten to DRM in my first project yet (it’s always the last thing I do,) so I don’t have any blocks of code for you.

well i just need something before i buy xojo to know how to sell app and allow only 1 or more machine installation etc…
I know theres many online subscription where you can make own license and then let user downloadit but i rather dont subscribe and have own installed in my server, but those things cost much ovet 1000$ i saw, so at the start i would be happy to find some code, which will be generate some paypay id and password i set, and also that user is allowed to install only one machine to not send this to all hackers on forum
thanks if you know how

Kagi and eSellerate charge a percentage per transaction rather than a subscription fee. To get the most profit you’re going to have to write your own DRM so that there’s no third party taking a cut.

If your app is Mac only, there’s also Aquatic Prime: http://tempel.org/UsingAquaticPrime

I would advise possibly writing your own solution.

eSellerate used to offer a Xojo plugin that made it simple to integrate with their services. However since the Digital River take over, esellerate have confirmed what many thought, and that’s they’ve now dropped support for Xojo.

If you’re targeting Mac customers, you should seriously consider the Mac App Store.

Well thanks Sam; but I will try to made sells on my future website, if i will come up there one day, so mac appstore is not solution, coz why should i pay someone for my work? I could order some better marketing and backlinks to my potentional customers, also it will be Linux & Win app, so basicly after otrder, I would like to generate some license tosend all via email and also put number of allowed installation.
It seems that i would have to invest more then 2500$ for this kind of thing + xojo license :frowning:
weel i dont smoke and i dont drink  so i can save money LOL

Simplest way to go : Paypal Instant Payment Notification (IPN). Paypal cost nothing to set up. The way it works is :

 • You create a button on their site and get a url that you use in your web site or web app to get the user to payment
 • When user has paid, Paypal IPN calls the url you specify to notify your system of the sale. It can be a WE program. All it needs to do is to get a url encoded series of fields (customer name, email, amount and so on) and send them back to validate. That app can then calculate the license number and password and send them to your customer.
 • After completion of the payment, you specify which URL Paypal must come back to. Use a WE app to thank the customer and let him download the software.

Incidentally, Paypal Europe is headquartered in Luxembourg. So you should feel home

Paypal will take care of the payment. Now you have to figure for yourself the method you will use to lock your program with a system of license number and record the number of installations. It has been discussed in this forum already.
Sir have you even read what i wrote? I dont think you understand English  coz I have paypal since few years I know about this and i’m using it, I TRY TO NOT SELL via paypal , BUT TO CREATE LICENSE WINDOW in desktop app, AND MAKE AUTHORIZATION to allow install app only on one machine.

Shame they dont have here DisLike I would like to press now  no offese
Allright. Now you are offended because your terrible English is not understood ? Do you realize there is a French channel where you could probably save yourself the ridicule ?

Why are you so aggressive ? Do you really have to be so unpleasant ?

You are not even polite enough to read, and see that the link I provided will give you a lot of information about how to generate your license and protect your software.

But no. Monsieur is so arrogant he needs a dislike button. Pitiful >:(

  well sr I’m not arogant as i mentioned “no offese” OMG
I appologize :stuck_out_tongue: well also i didnt sleep yet
