Anyone know how I could get a licence for Real Studio 2012 please? It’s not a commercial project but for a community funded silly electric racing series so our budget is basically none existent, a 30 day trial may be enough time though.
I’m the race controller for a wonderfully daft racing series called Hacky Racers, the software we use to run the races is open source but developed in Real Studio 2012. It also has a really annoying issue that can only be changed by recompiling. It has support for starting lights on an external relay board but only sends the signal at 3 seconds rather than 5, we need the full five lights on principle and it’s annoyed me for a long time now.
For those interested, it’s Flipside Racing we use. I’m trying to develop something from scratch but it’s taking much longer than expected, but if I could at least tweak a few things in FS Racing in the mean time it’d make my life much easier.
@Keegan_Neave - I’ve downloaded the github repo (as a zip) and was able to open it in Xojo2019r3.2 with very minimal gripes from Xojo.
The project will need a bit of adjustment to its drawing code (because of Xojo changes with how canvas painting works) but I think updating it to work in the latest builds of Xojo shouldn’t take too much effort… (famous last words )
My plate is a bit full at the moment, but I bet there are multiple people who might enjoy getting this to run in Xojo 2025r1.
I can 100% relate to loving that kind of challenge but please don’t put any time in to this! I’m going to be completely honest and say we don’t even have the budget for the lite licence so it wouldn’t be sustainable long term for us.
Contact hello@xojo.com for licensing stuff. Though this forum would be the place to try and get help updating it to modern versions, which you’d be able to run in debug mode.
