Omegabundle 2014

Does anyone have information on the release date for Omegabundle 2014? Also, does anyone know of a mailing list whereby I could be notified when it is available?

you can order now.

These guys do the worst launches - ever. As a Valentina customer I would have expected the first mail at least a week ago. Oh - as a MBS, Ohanaware and Einhugur customer I would have expected that, too.

Well, things don’t happen as you like. Sorry

The key was to put website online before launch, so people know about.
Newsletters will come soon.

I was commenting on marketing strategy and not on what I like.

I agree Beatrix.

It might be best for all developers involved in Omegabundle to have a streamlined prelaunch/launch strategy. It wouldn’t do anything but provide clarity. Clarity usually = sales. After all this bundle is packed with great professional products and deserves to be communicated at that same level.

Actually, a Black Friday launch could have been a bomb, and it ended up as a firecracker…

I see a product included in the omegabundle called Franklin 3D. Is this product still supported? If so, by whom? Does anyone here use it?

Okay, I got notice that it’s not launched yet, but website is online already and got the order button.

So you can order or wait for the launch in the next days!

Not sure if it is still supported, but it worked really well when I tried it a few months ago.

Thanks for the info Ashot. I already own most of what is in the OmegaBundle, If anyone has any info on where I can purchase Franklin 3D Separately, that would be great.

Looks like the website is abandoned.

This link talks about the company that produces(ed) it.

Thanks Mike, looks like it used to be a great product. Seems odd to me that a product that looks like it has been abandoned is included in the OmegaBundle.

You should add your software to the bundle then you can have some influence on how the launch is done.

I wouldn’t trust the product. If they abandoned the website, what shows us the product isn’t abandoned and that they’re not just milking the bundle? IMO a teenage kid who gave us lots of trouble at MacHeist had better scam launches than this bundle.

Would Franklin 3D actually work in Cocoa?

and before even the first newsletter email got out, some people found it and ordered a copy. :slight_smile:

Chart Director, Einhugur, Valentina and AppWrapper. This is tempting.

I like the sound of this bundle although I probably would not use every single item in it.

A question for Christian if I may since I can’t see the answer on the monkeybread site; does the DynaPDF Starter allow me to view a simple PDF within a xojo app, maybe using a canvas or imagewell ? I’m using OSX Mavericks and am aware of the very good Preview app for viewing PDFs, but I would like to provide a native built-in preview of a generated pdf file before saving it to disk.

I just cant see anything that mentions being able to display the pdf file within my app…

I also like the look of the Custom UI add-in in the bundle too :slight_smile:
Dim picFile As FolderItem
picFile = GetOpenFolderItem(“”)

If picFile <> Nil Then
Dim pic As Picture
pic = Picture.Open(picFile)
Canvas1.Backdrop = pic
End If
From http://documentation.xojo.com/index.php/Picture.Open

Put the file in a VirtualVolume to keep it in memory, or save it into SpecialFolder.Temporary to load it from there for the preview.

DynaPDF can do much more, though… Depends what you need exactly.
