I have an “Expired” license of Xojo Pro (Exp October 2014), before iOS and Raspberry Pi, which lists as “Xojo Pro (Desktop, Web, Console, Database Servers)” under my account when I go to my licenses. There is no mention of iOS or Raspberry Pi. I’m given the options of “Renew” for 1 or 2 years, “Upgrade to Pro” (but I thought I already had Pro) and “Upgrade to Enterprise”.
Now that I am wanting to obtain the latest versions of XojoPro for the next 12 months, but I also want to ensure I obtain the full feature set of what is currently offered as Pro, I am a bit confused as to which option to select.
Should I renew? Will this include the new features or just renew my old feature set for an a year?
Should I “Upgrade to Pro”? Is this the option to ensure I get my legacy Pro upgraded to the “new” Pro? If so, does it also extend my license for a year?
Or would it just be easier to buy a brand new license and forget about the old one?
email support@xojo.com for the definitive answer to your questions.
HI Robert,
You should renew. This will give you a new Pro license (and everything in that including iOS and RPi) with 12 months of access to new releases. Feel free to email me too for more details like Roger mentioned.
Hi, Alyssa.
Thanks for the reply and confirmation. As an FYI, I did email Xojo, early yesterday morning, but hadn’t received a response. I thought maybe it was lost in a spam filter somewhere.
Thanks again!
Don’t renew - there is no advantage to it.
The disadvantage is that your old license disappears. You are left with ONE license.
Just buy a new license and pass on your old one to your nephew/son/whoever, or put it on your parents computer (if you visit them you can use that version there then).
I really like Xojo, but I agree with Markus on this.
There’s no renewal discount (only the ability to save 10% if you allow them to automatically charge you) so you might as well collect additional licenses - it’ll allow for more machine activations (albeit with different versions.)
This way you can easily get someone else into Xojo
Hi Robert,
Do you mind letting me know what email address you emailed us at? I don’t see anything from you since 2013 and I’d like to look into this to make sure we aren’t missing things
For a pro user, discount is not necessarily paramount. After all, it will be written off, and a few sales offset the price anyway.
However, this year, I did wait until Black Friday to buy a new license.
