My MenuItem “Préférences...” is renamed “Réglages...”

My MenuItem “Préférences…” is renamed “Réglages…” at run time, probably by Ventura 13.2.1 (22D68).

NB: If I change “Préférences…” to “Preferences…”, my MenuItem name stays as is (in the ApplicationMenu).

So, it is probably a matter of localization, for non US-English OS.

In macOS 13 Apple renamed the Preferences menu item to Settings. I’m assuming that is what you are seeing. This is standard now for macOS 13 and above. I’m not a fan but that is the way it is.

Apparently, you are correct. I fired Xojo (2021r2.1) and its Preferences… MenuItem is set to… Settings….
